Travel Didges: compact travel didgeridoos
The Travel Didge is especially for the true didgeridoo fanatic, who won't let a day go by without experiencing the soothing meditative effect of a didgeridoo session. And who needs to have a didgeridoo at hand at all times, even when travelling or on holiday. There are several types of compact didgeridoos, based on the same principle as for example the tuba. The long tube that guarantees a low tone is 'rolled up' into a spiral. Or, as with the special square travel didge, it is 'folded' in a zigzag shape inside a wooden box!
How does a compact didgeridoo sound?
A spiral didge or a box didgeridoo doesn't quite have the full, deep resonating sound of a full size didgeridoo. But especially with spiral didgeridoos, the rolling up of the tube doesn't seem to change that much. As you can see for yourself by watching and listening to the demo videos of the compact didges in our shop.
Own Brand Travel Didgeridoo
Australian Treasures' compact didgeridoos are specially handmade to our specifications by experienced craftsmen. We guarantee optimum playing pleasure with sufficient counter pressure for a realistic approach to the 'full didge experience'. The Australian Treasures logo branded into our didgeridoos is a guarantee of A-quality Australian instruments.
Compact didgeridoos with bag
Even though it's 'just' a compact travel didgeridoo, you still have to take good care of your wind instrument. That's why we sell our travel didges with a handy carrying bag, which you can also use to carry your didgeridoo accessories like beeswax strips.
Compact didgeridoo a sacrilege?
Some didgeridoo aficionados pride themselves of only playing on a full-size didgeridoo, that has to be made of termite-hollowed eucalyptus and preferably fashioned by an ancient Aboriginal somewhere in the deep Australian outback. As fervent but practical didge players, we at Australian Treasures are a lot less strict in our doctrine. We don't care what kind of didgeridoo you play, as long as you have fun doing it. Therefore we advise everyone to start with a simple, cheap didgeridoo, for instance made of bamboo. And we won't hold it against you if for practical reasons you sometimes swap your luxurious 130cm long didge for a compact travel didgeridoo.
Compact didgeridoo for the neighbours
An additional advantage of the compact didgeridoo is that it is quieter than a regular didgeridoo. So if you live in a house with thin walls, or you want to play for half an hour after 10pm without disturbing your housemates or neighbours, the travel didge is an excellent alternative.read less keyboard_arrow_up
